Interdisciplinary Children’s Rights Teaching and Research Unit
The Teaching and Research Unit aims to develop scientific activities in the complex and multidimensional field of Children’s rights at regional, national, and international levels.
Children’s rights clearly lie at the crossroads between multiple disciplines, research areas, and scientific traditions that study issues related to principles of children’s rights, child development, and the status of children in society.
The Teaching and Research Unit pursues its objectives on the basis of a strictly inter- and transdisciplinary approach and in dialogue with diverse, complementary scientific disciplines such as law, sociology, psychology, communication sciences, and history.
The Unit seeks to strengthen and advance teaching and research as well as the dissemination of expert knowledge in this emerging field. It collaborates closely with the University of Fribourg and the International Institute for the Rights of the Child.
The University Institute Kurt Bösch, in collaboration with the International Institute for the Rights of the Child, is a member of the
Swiss Center of Expertise in Human Rights. Specifically, the two institutions are responsible for the thematic cluster
“Children and youth politicy.”
