Christophe Clivaz (1969) a obtenu une licence en science politique à l’Université de Lausanne suivie d’un diplôme d’études supérieures en management et analyse des politiques publiques (DESMAP), orientation gestion de l’environnement, à l’Université de Genève. Il a terminé son parcours de formation par un doctorat en administration publique à l’Institut de hautes études en administration publique (IDHEAP) où il a travaillé comme assistant-doctorant de 1995 à 2000. Son travail de thèse portait sur l’écologisation des politiques suisse et valaisanne du tourisme avec une approche théorique en termes de réseaux d’action publique (policy networks).
De 2000 à 2008, Christophe Clivaz a travaillé à la Haute école spécialisée de Suisse occidentale – Valais (HES-SO Valais) à Sierre, d’abord comme collaborateur scientifique au sein du Centre de recherche de l’Ecole suisse du tourisme, puis comme professeur HES d’économie touristique et de développement durable au sein de l’Institut Economie & Tourisme. Ses travaux de recherche ont porté sur les thèmes suivants : Agendas 21 locaux, événementiel sportif, gestion des visiteurs dans les parcs et zones protégées, gouvernance des territoires touristiques.
Ses travaux actuels se focalisent sur les questions de gouvernance des lieux touristiques et sur l’analyse des politiques publiques touristiques, que ce soit aux niveaux local, régional, national ou mondial.
